Challenge #108 - Thanks

Hello KBD friends! Today's challenge is all about being thankful.  So I'd like to thank Kitty Bee Designs for having me on their design team.  They are an awesome group of ladies! Unfortunately my time with the team has come to an end.  I've recently gone back to work and with that and other things in life I'm finding it difficult to add in some crafting time.  I honestly don't know how some of you ladies do it!

I'd also like to thank our sponsors for this challenge Sasayaki Glitter and Lemon Shortbread.

For today's challenge I went with an image from Sasayaki Glitter "Amy in the Garden"

I used copic markers to color her and zig clean color real brush for the Thanks, which I later with over with a shimmery embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

My Favorite Things - Well connected alphabet
Lawn Fawn - Large Stitched circle stackables

Halloween Challenge #106

Hello KBD friends! For my mid-inspiration post today I have decided to use images from both of our sponsors to create these shaker bookmarks, a perfect non sugary treat to add to those goodie bags! Usually I have a complete list of the copic colors I've used, but I've found that going back to work after 13 years of being a stay at home mom, I barely have time to craft let alone keep track of the markers I've used!lol So today will be a quick post.

I'd like to give a special thanks to Star Stampz and The East Wind for sponsoring us in this challenge. They both make so many fabulous images!

Materials used:

Star Stampz - Ghost girl
The East Wind - Spellbound

I hope I've brought you some inspiration, and remember there's still time to join in the challenge!

Happy Crafting!

Gift Bow

Hello KBD friends! For my spotlight today I've created a gift bow. The bow is an SVG cut from Sandra's Scrapshop and comes with a card base which I have not added. I'm using the ever so cute Narwhal Love II. I wanted to paint him in space colors and had the perfect fish in space paper to go with it.

Materials used:

Kitty Bee Designs - Narwhal Love II
Sandra's Scrapshop - Bow card
Simon Says Stamp - Stacked Stars
Sizzix - Framelits ovals
Spellbinders - Holiday Magic embossing folder
Deco foil - Rainbow
Ranger - enamel accents blue ribbon
Star garland
Lace with glitter
Wow! - Gold pearl embossing powder
Tim Holtz - Distress paint picket fence

To make Narwhal with galaxy skin I printed her out on some bristol paper.  I then went over the outline with my versamark watermark pen and heat embossed her in gold. Then I used Zig clean color real brush markers black, purple, deep violet, blue, and cobalt blue. I randomly marked Narwhal up leaving white space here and there for the color to flow into. Next just add water to a brush and let it flow on, its amazing how the colors come together. After letting it dry I flicked Tim Holtz picket fence paint on with a splatter brush, and with a white gel pen I added a few more dots and some stars.

Hope you liked my project, thanks for stopping by!

Gift Card Holder

Hello KBD friends, for today's project I've decided to make a gift card holder by hand. It's really simple to do and can be so much nicer then the plan envelopes they give you in the store.

First I took a piece of scrap cardstock I had and            Placing an old gift card that I had lying             cut it down to 4" x 7". Next I scored it at 3" then          around I marked where I wanted the cuts that   again at 3" from that score line.                                     would hold the card in place. I used an xacto                                                                                             knife and metal ruler to cut these slits. I then                                                                                           used my PPP stitched borders to the top fold                                                                                             over a little more fancy.

Finally I folded my fancy edge down and marked where I wanted my half moon to go to help keep the holder shut. My half moon is not perfect drew and cut this by hand using an xacto knife. I know they make punches for this kind of tab but I don't have one, if you have one feel free to use yours!

Now on to the fun part, decorating!

Stay Cool Gift Tag

Hello KBD friends! Today I wanted to do something a little different and create a gift tag instead of a card. I decided since this little bunny was having a delicious shave ice during the hot summer, the sentiment should match.

I haven't used my fun flock in a long time so decided it was time to bust it out! Unfortunately its been so long I forgot that its a good idea to color your image first to cover up any holes that the fun flock doesn't cover, so my bunny is a little splotchy.

Materials used:

Kitty Bee Designs - Shave Ice Bunny
My Favorite Things - Die-namics stitched scallop basic edge, Stitched fishtail banner, Merry and bright 6x6 paper pack, well connected alphabet
Stampendous - fun flock caramel latte tan

Wow! - fluorescent pink embossing powder
Snowflake sequin

Birthday Card using a Vday Image

Hello fellow crafters, who says you can't use other types of images for birthday cards! Today I've taken this cute little raccoon who I thought upon coloring was a red panda (apparently I don't know my animals!)lol.  I think hearts are pretty universal so used this image for a birthday card, and his picked something special just for you on your birthday!

Materials used:

Kitty Bee Designs - A Bowl of Hearts Raccoon Valentine
Simon Says Stamps - Sketch Ranunculus (little circles)
Zing - gold embossing powder
Stickles - diamond
vellum

I used copic markers to give a touch of color to the raccoon on the pattern paper and to color in the larger racoon.  I hate covering up beautiful background paper, so what better to use then vellum so it still shows through!

For just the background paper I used my silhouette studio and created a rectangle the same size my card would be. I then sized the raccoon and replicated him.  From there it was just a matter of  twisting and turning him so he wouldn't be so uniform on the paper.

For the inside I just stamped a simple happy birthday to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping by!
