Its been a crazy month! Last minute mixed media had to make for my husband to give one of his boss that just came back to work this week.  I'm actually surprised that I was able to make the time to post this on here!. I give credit to everyone that keeps up with their blog its a lot of work!  Ok so here we go....

Supplies

5x7 canvas board
Dylusions ink spray in vibrant turquoise, lemon zest, and crushed grape
Liquitex basics acrylic gesso
Decoart dimensional effects paste
Stickles diamond
decoart dazzling metallic in festive red, splendid gold, and shimmering silver
Stampendous frantage embossing powder in shabby white
Mini Cherry Blossoms stencil by thecraftersworkshop.com
paper flowers
Tiddly inks Druscilla

copics used

Skin - E04, E11, E00, E000, R20, BV000

Hair - C9, C7, C5, C5, C3

Dress - BV08, BV04, BV02, V09

Wings - BG000, B01, wink of stella Green and clear

I sprayed my canvas with the dylusions spray which I'm really loving I think its the best so far out of what I've tried which mind you isn't much but I just love the way it lays down and how it pools always giving me a nice effect. I definitely wanna get more colors in this. Once it appeared to be dry I cut out a stencil with my silhouette cameo I believe the cut was called birch trees, sold in the silhouette store. I went over the stencil with a medium thickness gesso to give it some dimension. Once that was dry I sprinkled frantage on it and used a candle lighter to melt it into place. I then used the cherry blossom stencil with dimensional paste, once dry I painted over the flowers and birds with my metallic paint.  As far as the color on the gesso and on the dimensional paste leaves it just kind of absorbed the color that was laid down on the canvas in the beginning. I used foam pop dots to place druscilla down and E6000 to glue down the flowers.

Thanks for stopping bye!

Christmas is almost here!

So its been awhile since I've posted anything. I honestly don't know how people keep up with their blogs.....maybe I'm just lazy?lol Anyway with Christmas just a week away and no recent post from me I thought I'd post a few things I had been working on this holiday season.  Unfortunately I didn't write down the copic combos I used so this isn't going to be a real detailed post!

This hat is from the silhouette store designed by Needles 'n' knowledge it's their mourners hat. I turned into my version of the mad hatters hat for a gift to give a friend for Christmas. The playing cards are also from the silhouette store I sized them to my needs and distressed them. The door knob and key hole are by tim holtz and the other metal embellishments on the hat are from wild orchids.  The display case I have it in is actually meant for a basketball it's the only thing I could find for the size I needed and price I wanted to pay, it worked out perfectly. I used a stencil I cut out on my silhouette from Bird's cards.  On the top I used visible image "grunge flourish" and stamped it with stazon.

Next is a birthday card my mom requested made for the man that takes the pictures of the winning dogs in the dog shows here. I used my copic airbrush to accomplish the clouds. The cake is from Miss Kate Cuttables. The dog attaced to the balloons is from tiddly inks and the other dogs are from my favorite things "you make my tail wag".

Next I made our mailman a Christmas card. The digi stamp is from Make it Crafty "elf delivery system" It was just to much of a perfect title for a card for the mailman I couldn't help but use the name of the stamp on the card. I embossed the title with stampedious embossing powders and did the snow with a snow marker.  Again colored in copics.

Finally I made this draw boxes to hold some mixed media canvases that my husband with give to his supervisors for Christmas. I topped the boxes off with Bow cards from Sandra's Scrapshop. I used digi stamps from Make it Crafty and Tiddly inks.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed my crafts as much as I enjoyed making them!

Mixed media "Ice Wall"

So today I thought I'd blog about this mixed media piece I just finished.  It was inspired by Kit and Clowder's august create and learn class.  I recently signed up for the mixed media class there and I am hooked! So here's a few details on how I put this together.

Materials used:

5 x 7 canvas
homemade texture paste
Mesh ribbon silver
sequins "ocean breeze" and double click skettles "peacock glitter & stream" from sosuzystamps.com
paper flowers
chipboard
copic airbrush
glitter glue "diamond"
Inka gold " Platin Platinum & Cobalt Blue"

Image:

Polkadoodles - Octavia Frosted Winter: Arctic wandering star

Copics used:

Ice wall - B99, B16, B21, BG01
Snow - N4, N0 (for the shadow)

Image:

Cape - RV34, RV52, R83, RV69, C3, C0
Hat - RV52, C3, C0, YG95, RV95
Clothes - E18, E37, E99, E59, E47, E71, E74, E79, W9
Skin - E000, E00, E11, E04, R20, (eye shadow C3), (lips E04, R02, R20)
Eyes - C3, B12, B16
Hair - E18, E15, E13, E49

Here I have my 5x7 canvas I primed with gesso and layed down my texture paste I used the image to gage where my snow should end. After waiting a day to let it dry good I added more textured paste to get more dimension and cover my canvas better.

After letting it dry for another day I took my copic airbrush and used the darkest color in all the ridges working my way out to the lightest color. I used silver inka gold over the peaks to give it a nice shine, I tried adding glossy glue to give it a slippery look but unfortunately I think mines has gone bad it had a yellow tint to it so once it was dry I ran more silver inka gold over it. I then glued my sequins and double-click skittles in place. After airbrushing the wall I used my image to gage where her shadow should be and airbrushed it into the snow. I then layed down my glitter glue to make it shimmer.
It was a last minute decision to add the flowers and ribbon to it, then had to add the chipboard because it was just to bare in that spot.

Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by!
