Story time wall art

Hello fellow crafters, today starts a new challenge at Star Stampz and the theme is reading, writing and arithmetic! So for this new theme I put together some wall art using 'The book elf'. I used distress markers to color in the image.

Materials used:

Star Stampz - The book elf
Sizzix - Tim Holtz butterfly frenzy
Pretty Pink Posh - Stitched borders 2, mini star confetti
Wild Orchid crafts - assorted flowers
Silhouette - cute fence
Make it crafty - shooting stars chipboard
cheese cloth
Dylusions - crushed grape ink spray
Indigo blu - gilding flakes autumn blaze
Gelly roll - silver, gold
Distress ink - seedless preserves, salty ocean
Stickles - yellow
Liquid pearls - ocean blue
My Favorite things - linen background stamp
Stampendous - frontage embossing powder
Deco foil - champagne

I  used copic marker B14 with the airbrush to do the background. Then sprinkled it with some gold and white frantage embossing powder to give it a little bit of a magical feel.

Distress Markers:

Sky - tumbled glass
Trees, grass, bushes - mowed lawn, twisted citron, pine needles, peeled paint, forest moss, vintage photo, ground espresso, brushed corduroy
Sun - squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin
Skin - scattered straw, tea dye, tattered rose
Eyes - salty ocean
Hair - black soot, chipped sapphire
Dress - wilted violet, abandoned coral
Books - aged mahogany, black soot, seedless preserves, iced spruce, broken china
Fence & sign - weathered wood
Bunny - pumice stone, tattered rose
Squirrel - walnut stain, rusty hinge

I used the Times font on my cameo to write it out my title on black cardstock then colored it in with a white gelly roll pen.  I then stamped the word with my favorite things and used gilded flakes over it so it wouldn't be solid black.

Once my final piece was done all that was left was adding it to a 12 x 12 shadow box frame. Thanks for stopping by!

A little Kitchen Decor

Today I've decided to do a little kitchen décor.  My original plan was to use these images for some birthday cards but when you make so many cards it's nice to take a break sometimes to make something a little different. The images I used are by Yampuff and can be found on deviant art.

Materials used:

Yampuff - Hot Cocoa Emiko, Razielle Cupcake, Macaroon Hikaru
Silhouette - 11.3 x 11.3 shadow box frame (shrunk to 6x6)
Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Frame, mini heart confetti
Sizzix - Tim Holtz Bubble embossing folder, scallop circle die
Cuttlebug - Argyle embossing folder
Craft Medley - cup sequins box of chocolate
Stampendous - Frantage embossing powder
Lawn Fawn - teeny tiny backdrops, stitched rectangle
Ranger - Tim Holtz distress crayon peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon

Copics used:

Whipped cream - Y15, Y00, Y0000, T2, T0
Cherries - R35, RV29, E39, E59, opaque white
Cup - E33, E53, E51, YR21, BG49, BG15, BG11
Chocolate sprinkles - E29
Skin - E04, E11, E00, E000, R20
Eyes - E31, G94
Wings - Y28, Y04, Y0000
Hair - BG49, BG15, BG11, YG11
Flower - YR82, YR20, E01, G05, YG07

I wanted to keep the color scheme the same or similar on all 3 pictures so my color combos are the same for all the pictures just in different areas. I did need to add chocolate frosting to Razielle cupcake and used E49, E37, E33, E31, E53, E51.

Macaroon Hikaru I used a slightly different color variation with the peach and her hair.
Hair - E29, E25, E21
Clothing - YR15, YR82, E01, YR0000
Strawberries - R30, R14, R17, R29, R39
I made the shadow box frame for the silhouette store to contain each of these pieces and covered it with acetate.
