Spring Birthday card

What a better way to celebrate spring then with a birthday! Besides it being my birthday month its also my grandmother's so I made this cute card for her. I had wanted the colors on the front to be soft like the inside but I'm a novice and it didn't turn out that way. lol My only guess would be that I put gesso down on the inside cardstock and didn't do that to the front since I was using water color cardstock.

The ponies in this card are from the Greeting farm - Magical friends. The flowers can't think of the exact name for them are from Purple Onion designs - Stacey Yacula Studio - sunnyBlooms.
I used Zig Clean Color real brush colors- may green, olive green, deep green, green,  Persian blue, cobalt blue, cornflour blue, light blue, red, pink, and light violet. I edged the cardstock in Tim Holtz distress ink seedless preserve. The die cuts used were Spellbinders Die D-Lites Victoria Corners.
The pony was colored with Copics - RV09, RV04, RV02, RV00, V28, V25, V22, V20, V09, and 0. I added clear Wink of Stella to her hair and blue and black zig clean color real brush to make the butterfly on her bottom.

The inside was done with the same zig colors but I believe I got a softer look due the fact I had prepped my area with gesso first. I only did this to cover up some of the pattern on the paper for my image. I'm really happy with the look I achieved here. Background image is from Make it Crafty - Whimsical Flowers. I edged the inside cardstock with Tim Holtz vintage photo and seedless preserve distress ink.
The pony was colored with copics - BV08, BV02, BV00, V22, V20, R20, RV09, RV04, RV02
Also used Uni Posca white for the dots in her hair.

This card design is from the silhouette online store and made by lori whitlock.

Easter Card

This is my first Easter card ever and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  I decided to do a shaker/ easel card, lately I've just been obsessed with making shaker cards still trying to get it just right I usually add too little cutouts or sequins or my space is to small to really see anything that's being shaken.lol

Copics used - W5, W3, W1, C3, YR18, YR14, Y06, FB2, B16, B02, E81, R20, R30

Other materials used

Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz collection - Bird Crazy, Crazy Things
Tim Holtz distress inks - salty ocean, mustard seed, seedless preserves, mowed lawn, picked raspberry
Bo Bunny - Flourish dies
Bo Bunny - Coral Pearlescents
Liquid pearls- ocean blue
Pretty Pink Posh - various sequins
Miss Kate Cuttables - cute easter eggs
Deco Foil - rainbow arcoiris

I used Sakura Quickie Glue to adhere the foil, I would say it turned out ok but not perfect.  From what I've seen toner works best but I don't have the space to purchase a laser printer just to do a little foiling.

I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by! I'm entering this card in the markerpop challenge.

sympathy card

Hello, new post today wanted to get this up for the markerpop challenge before it ends.  I made this sympathy card for my mom who's guitar teacher recently passed.  Only two markers were used along with the copic airbrush.

To create this card I used Copic BV31, and BV01 with the Copic airbrush. I used a background svg image from Bird's cards and cut it with stencil material to airbrush this background in. The guitar was a svg file from the silhouette online store and flowers were from wild orchid crafts.

I basically just did some layering used some tim holtz tissue then layered my guitar on top of it and used some textured paste to blend one side of the guitar edge lines into the card. I realize its not smoothly blended in I wanted to give it more of an artistic look.lol I also airbrushed the rose because it was originally pink and while I do have a small pink flower in there a big one just didn't look right. If you wondering why there's some parts that looks like I just globed glue on there it was actually the tim holtz crackle paste, I have to say I don't really care for it much I think I put it on too thick here and that's why it didn't turn out right but I've tried a thin layer a long time ago and didn't like how that turned out either. I know he has a new line of the crackle so wondering if that's any better.

Finally, with all those flowers this card was not gonna fit into any envelope so had to create a box for it. I again airbrushed the top of the box and I also used versamark with a bronte script stamp from Visible Image, and over that stamped my memory box stamp fluttering with memento grape jelly.

Thanks for stopping bye!

A rainy day card

So today I've made this card to enter in some challenges I had the idea in my head to make this a shaker card which may have not been the wisest choice.  I say not the wisest choice because my rain heart windows are too small to really see anything but on the positive side it makes noise like a rain stick so still matches my theme! Gotta stay positive! With that said here is a hopefully quick post with the items I've used and challenges entered.

This is image is by All Dressed Up "A Time To Share"
I used sequins from So Suzy Stamps
Mini heart confetti and seed beads from Pretty Pink Posh
It's hard to see the sequins and seed beads through these little heart windows but I promise their in there!

I cut a rainbow out on my silhouette cameo for the inside of the card and covered it in clear wink of stella.  I love this card just because it can either be used as a get well card or sympathy card.

Now on to what I used! these colors above were used to color the umbrella and for the bar of the umbrella I used silver wink of stella. and I also used B000 for the raindrops on the top.

These are the color combo I used for her skin.

These colors were used for her outfit along with copic opaque for the little hearts on her dress.

Finally these were the sprays I used to achieve the background.

Taste the ranbow

Hello today I'm gonna blog this card I recently made for anyone curious how I did it or what I used.  This is going to be mostly pictures because I'm too lazy to have to type a whole bunch and I just think its more interesting.lol

I had craft supply ordering withdrawals so went ahead and scratched that itch and wanted to play with some of the new things I ordered. One of them was this beautiful butterfly stamp by memory box called fluttering, so I decided to make a card with it.

Using this cardstock and frog tape, I taped it down to my mat leaving a 1/8" border on all sides

I then sprayed the cardstock with the pink and blue first blotting up some of the extra ink that pooled.  Be careful to use clean sides of the paper towel your using or you'll end up dabbing the ink you alrdy collected on a new section that you may not intend to get that color in.

I then took my yellow and sprayed the top and bottom corner and blotted the excess of that also.

Once dry I used these ink splat stamps with water to give it a splotchy look, better it didn't turn out how I had planned so I think next time I'll just skip this stamp and maybe using a paint brush just flick some water across.

My next step I stamped my image down with black versa craft ink and embossed it

I don't have a pic of these next few steps sorry=(

After the embossing was heat set I went in with the izink coloring in each butterfly. You cant tell by the picture but it gives it a pearlescent shine.  I had ordered this thinking it was an opaque white that was pearlescent but was wrong! Anyway this project gave me the opportunity to play with it anyway.

Next I went in with the copic opaque on each butterfly to add some interest to each one and just make them stand out more.

Also went in with a little clear wink of stella on each one to give a little more sparkle. After this I took a stencil and some new paste I want to try out and added it to the corners. It wasn't really transparent like I thought it would be but still absorbed the ink to blend in.  oh I almost forgot! before I did this I also sprayed my paper with some workable fixative in the hopes that later if it accidentally gets a little wet the ink won't go everywhere. Ok back to it after the paste dried I added some stickles of matching colors to the paste.

Next using my ATG I glued to an A2 size card. Now the finally step I took some double click connections AKA double click skittles in the closest colors I had to my card and adhered them with some tombow glue.  Boy this was a lot more typing then I expected! I hope this was helpful to you!

green dragon card

Hello to anyone who's out there. I'm back to post for a challenge and even though I have the worst luck when it comes to drawings I'll keep trying!

So today I wanted to try something different I saw on someone else's blog.  They used images of the markers they used instead of typing everything down! I'm sure a lot of you have seen this already but for my first time seeing this because I myself am not much of a blog hopper I thought this was ingenious especially to someone who's as lazy as I am! the  only thing I will type down are the stamps I used.

Stamps

Tiddly Inks - A treasured friend
Make it Crafty - Whimsical beanstalk

Markers I used to give  it a sepia feel

Colors I used on the dragons
